"Appreciation post for my 10 year old void that I adopted 5 months ago"
-
This woman adopted Aceituno, affectionately called Tuno, a 10-year-old blind black cat, five months ago. After spending one year on the streets and nine years in a shelter, he finally has a loving home.
Tuno is a devoted companion who constantly seeks cuddles, purrs, and makes biscuits by her side. Although blind and managing some health issues, he remains sweet and affectionate.
-
Now, his adopter celebrates her beloved cat: “he will spent the rest of his life in a warm home” She encourages others: “If you have the opportunity to adopt a black void, even if its an oldie, go for it, you won't regret it.”

"We adopted sister cats today even though we only meant to get one"
-
After losing their beloved 21-year-old cat, this couple thought opening their hearts to new cats would be impossible. Two years later, on her birthday, this woman visited an adoption cat café, believing one cat would be enough.
But two adorable sisters seemed to choose them almost instantly, reminding them of their beloved girl. She realized “the most important thing is that the cat chooses us.”
-
Now, the sisters are the sweetest new additions to their home, and she shares her joy: “My heart is exploding!! I already love them so much.”

This dad was completely against adopting a fourth cat, insisting, “I told you not to get another cat, are y'all insane!?” But the new boy quickly stole his heart. Before long, Dad was declaring, “He is my cat now, okay? Mine only,” and lovingly telling him, “You're my little boy, yes, yes you are!” Never underestimate a cat’s ability to turn a reluctant human into a devoted cat dad.

"I was warned about tortitude when I adopted Lili and now I feel very lied to"
via u/Jahliv12 -
When this woman adopted Lilith as a kitten a year ago, her friends warned her about the famous tortoiseshell “tortitude.” Instead, she found herself with “the sweetest baby in the world.” Lilith constantly begs for cuddles, purrs whenever she’s touched, and loves staying close to her owner, whether sitting on her lap or snuggling under the blankets.
-
Everyone predicted she would change as she grew up, but “the only thing that's changed is that she is somehow even more sweet.” She has even won over Maple, the household’s famously grumpy older cat. To her adopter, Lilith is family, and “I would do anything for her.”

"This photo makes me cry every single time I see it. I only meant to foster him, but now I wouldn’t even want to come home if he wasn't there."

As a veterinary student, this woman initially planned to release Clay back onto the streets once he recovered from his injuries, believing she couldn’t manage a permanent pet. But over time, she realized she couldn’t live without him.
“Clay was the first cat to live with me permanently when I moved out on my own, and because of him, I have never spent a single day feeling alone.” They cuddle every day, and he welcomes foster cats with such gentleness that he even “meows at the incoming foster cats to calm them down.”
-
Despite losing a paw to a severe wound and undergoing major dental surgery, Clay has remained loving and resilient. His adopter admits, “I never planned on adopting him, but he turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.” He is the reason her house feels like home.

"Started in a feed bin, now in her forever home"

This woman found Nutmeg, a shivering kitten abandoned at the horse stable where she volunteers. She brought her home temporarily, where Nutmeg quickly became affectionate, “meowing the second the door opened” and rubbing against her legs.
Sadly, with three older cats, including one recently diagnosed with diabetes, she couldn’t afford the veterinary care Nutmeg needed. She contacted shelters and rescues, hoping to find her a safe home.
-
Then, a family friend who had fallen in love with Nutmeg decided to adopt her after all. Now, Nutmeg has two feline companions and is receiving treatment for a respiratory inf*ction. Her rescuer is grateful to have been “a stepping stone in sweet Nutmeg's journey to her forever home.”

When this woman’s friend found a tiny kitten inside a Lincoln at a junkyard, he rescued her and began bottle-feeding her but grew exhausted. She took over, feeding little Lincoln at the barn before bringing her to a friend’s home. Lincoln has since been adopted by a German shepherd who “lives for kittens.” Now she’s his baby, and Lincoln will grow up safely indoors.

"How about a bonded trio? 2 are recently adopted 6 month old littermates, one I've had for about 4 years is about 7 or 8 years older!"

After losing his beloved 18-year-old black cat Astro in July, this man noticed his tuxedo cat Charlie seemed lonely and depr*ssed. After talking with his vet, he decided to adopt two male kittens who could grow up together. He hoped for a black cat like Astro and a tabby, and soon his vet emailed: “well, the rescue just had a black and a tabby kitten, both male, become available for adoption.” It felt like fate!
He brought home the kittens, naming them Loki and Goose, and was amazed by how easily Charlie accepted them. Although he expected to wait a week before introductions, he decided to see what would happen. Charlie simply stared at the kittens before settling onto the couch, completely unbothered.
Over the following days, the cats grew increasingly comfortable together. Goose decided Charlie was “like the most awesome cat in the world,” while Loki preferred a little more personal space but still enjoyed snuggling with his new family.
-
The adopter now has “about 8 billion photos of the 3 of them in some form of kitty pile or another” because it’s “just soooo d*mn cute!”

"I Never Thought It Was Possible"
-
After losing her beloved cat Kiev to an aggressive cancer, this woman spent three months grieving, struggling with sleepless nights and the emptiness her girl had left behind. She admitted, “I honestly felt like my life was over without her.”
Eventually, she saw a rescue notice about Roxie, a malnourished stray who had been struggling to survive while nursing her kittens. Despite initially feeling guilty about adopting again, she decided to give Roxie “a home full of love and safety.”
-
Adopted just two days ago, Roxie reminded her so much of Kiev that, for the first time since losing her beloved girl, she laughed again. “It honestly felt good.”
